The popular AMC show “Mad Men” is entering its final season, and when the show ends, it will have left its mark not only on its many fans but also on the design world. The 1960s-era drama about a New York ad agency is widely regarded as having influenced a resurgence of interest in mid-century modern furniture in recent years.
Stanley Furniture has responded to this interest in mid-century modern by introducing its 73-piece Crestaire line, which interprets mid-century modern furniture in a manner that suits today’s homes. Pieces in the collection reflect contemporary trends but also give a nod to the clean lines of mid-century modern furnishings.
This Ladera Bed from Stanley Furniture is part of their Crestaire line. The angularly tufted upholstered headboard lends a signature style to the Ladera Bed. The bed comes in two finishes: Porter, a rubbed medium brown tone over walnut veneers, and Capiz, a high-sheen pearlescent finish. So while “Mad Men” fans may be sad to see the show end this spring, they can always keep a bit of “Don Draper” in their decor thanks to furnishings inspired by mid-century modern style.
