Knox and Panoply have long been supporters of the Main Street Newnan program. On the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27, 2015, Main Street Newnan is encouraging everyone to “shop local” this Christmas season by celebrating Plaid Friday instead of Black Friday and shopping with some of the many wonderful merchants of downtown Newnan.
Plaid Friday holiday shopping is a great way to support your local merchants. And according to Main Street, "The plaid pattern represents weaving the individual threads of small businesses together to create a strong fabric that celebrates the diversity and creativity of independent businesses." Plaid Friday is the relaxing and enjoyable alternative to the big box stores' “Black Friday.”
Also on Friday, at 6 p.m. Santa Claus himself will arrive in downtown Newnan on a fire truck and light the downtown Christmas Tree. From then until 8 p.m., children are welcome to sit on Santa's lap and read their Christmas wish list. We hope you'll join us on Friday for these wonderful new traditions in downtown Newnan!
